UPDATE ON ELECTRICAL SUPPLY FAULT AT STANFORD ROAD PUMP STATION.
Electricity supply has been restored to the Stanford Road pump station. Teams are currently resetting the pumps and will start them shortly.
Sadly, an act of vandalism took on the overhead line that supplies the Motherwell pump station with electricity. The Electricity and Energy department is aware of this and repairs will start as soon as teams become available. There is currently no timeframe available.
This could lead to low water pressure or disruptions of the East / West water supply once again. Residents are requested to use water or essential purposes only until the repair work is completed.
The areas below may experience low water pressure or disruptions:
1.Rowallan Park
2.Francis Evatt Park
3.Hunters Retreat
4.Bay West
5.Parsonsvlei / Westbrook

12.Malabar
13.Parts of Schauderville

15.Sunridge Park
16.Parts of Lorraine

Water tankers will be deployed and will be communicated on the NMBM website and social media pages. They can also be enquired about by calling the Service Delivery Call Centre at 0800 20 5050.
ELECTRICAL SUPPLY FAULT AT STANFORD ROAD PUMP STATION COULD CAUSE WATER DISRUPTIONS IN PARTS OF THE METRO.
A fault on the electrical supply to the Stanford Road pump station area could cause water disruptions should storage be depleted before the power is restored.
The Electricity and Energy department is aware of the issue and the fault is being investigated. Unfortunatel, no time frame is available as yet.

REDUCED SUPPLY TO THE EMERALD HILL ZONE
August 4th, 2022.
As previously communicated, the allocation from the Kromme system has been restricted to only 30 megalitres per day. The demand on this system still outweighs the supply and to minimise the impact of this, the Metro has developed certain augmentation schemes to supplement this deficit.
A faulty valve was discovered on one of these systems and it had since been removed. This reduced the augmentation potential today and this caused reservoirs supplied from the Kromme system to lose storage. This could cause low pressure or water supply disruptions.
Work is nearing completion and thereafter, the transfer supply system can be commissioned again. Water supply will continue to be restored throughout the night.
We therefore require all residents to keep their water consumption to a minimum so that storage can accumulate once again.
The following areas may experience low water pressure or water disruptions:
